Founded in 2009 as a family-owned brunch café in Allston, @Union has grown into one of the neighborhood’s most beloved local brunch destinations, serving the community for over 15 years. Built on a foundation of chef-driven brunch offerings and house-roasted coffee, @Union has consistently upheld its commitment to quality food, exceptional coffee, and a strong community-focused culture.
 

This design project was developed with deep respect for @Union’s history and identity while embracing the brand’s present and future. The warm wood elements and cozy atmosphere that longtime customers associate with @Union were carefully preserved and reinterpreted through a brighter, more refined design approach, allowing the past and present of @Union to coexist seamlessly.
 

The space was designed to be filled with natural morning light, creating an inviting environment where guests can enjoy thoughtfully prepared brunch dishes alongside freshly roasted coffee. By eliminating unnecessary distractions and focusing on simplicity, the design places the food, coffee, and overall guest experience at the center of the brand.

More than a renovation, this project tells the story of @Union’s 15-year journey while creating a foundation for its next chapter.
